The Principal of Ed Smith pre K – 8 School, Sam Barber has been a a partner of The Shaw Center for 22 years. He was involved in conversations way back at the start of Syracuse University Literacy Corps while he was working at Franklin School. He helped develop the teaching methods with the center that are still used today.
We caught up with Sam Barber ahead of the Shaw Center’s Community Partners Meeting to talk with him about what it has been like to work with the center all these years. His stories, sources from teachers at all levels of his school and his own personal interactions with students, highlight the work Syracuse University Literacy Corps, Engineering Ambassadors, and service learning students are doing in the community.
This video was created through the combined efforts of Sarah Redmore and Patrick Linehan.
