Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Students Collaborate with NASA on Senior Design Capstone

For decades, NASA’s testing chambers have been used to simulate the harsh conditions of space, allowing engineers to test the durability of spacecraft and other equipment in a controlled environment. These testing chambers, which can simulate extreme temperature or pressure environments, have played a crucial role in developing new technology for space travel, dating back to the first Apollo space mission.

The leadership demonstrated by the interns and staff of the Shaw Center has impacted the community for decades, this year being no exception. Five students and one professional staff were recognized at the One University Awards for their excellence as members of the Syracuse University community.

University Community, Sleep in Heavenly Peace Build 88 Beds for Local Children
Last year, the Syracuse University Volunteer Organization (SUVO) took on its first bed build event on campus. The organization teamed up with the local chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP) to build 44 beds for children in the community. Taylor Byrne ’25 is forging her own career path. An aspiring public relations practitioner, she majors in public relations in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.
