The Syracuse University Volunteer Organization (SUVO) is a recognized student organization that supports SU students for volunteering in the Syracuse community and is a resource for student organizations interested in planning special events with outside agencies.
In addition to helping students looking to get volunteer information, SUVO organizes on-campus volunteer opportunities.
Last year, the SUVO launched an on-campus bed building event in collaboration with the nonprofit organization Sleep in Heavenly Peace. Over 100 volunteers gathered and built 44 beds for children in the Syracuse community currently sleeping on the floor. With plans to double the bed building event this year, SUVO hopes to make this partnership an annual tradition.
