SU Volunteer Organization
The Syracuse University Volunteer Organization (SUVO) is a recognized student organization that recruits SU students who share a passion for community service and getting involved in the greater Syracuse area. The organization provides placement information to students who want to be involved in local agencies, one-time service projects, and organized events. Please check the Calendar of Events on a regular basis for updated information.
SUVO members celebrated the 20th Annual Comstock Kidfest in 2010. The event, typically involves 40 student groups, drawing almost 350 children from the Syracuse community to Flanagan gymnasium. Organizers partner with Recreation Services, the Department of Public Safety, and Parking and Transit Services to continue to make this event a success. The event brings together children from eight after-school programs. SUVO also provides volunteers for the Salvation Army Dome Donation Day, an annual food collection held during a home football game, typically collecting enough food to support 3,000 families in Syracuse.

Dome Donation Day
SUVO organizes individual students, students groups and student organizations to help man barrels for The Salvation Army canned food drive each fall during a home football game. Food collected at Dome Day is distributed to families during the Holiday Season.
Comstock Kidfest brings together 350 children from community agencies and over 30+ Syracuse University students, groups, and organizations for an afternoon fun-filled carnival at Flanagan Gymnasium during the spring semester.
During the fall semester, SUVO helps organize holiday parties for students interested in planning or assisting with holiday parties at local schools and community based organizations.
