Shaw Center facilitates Literacy Initiatives in partnership with SU colleges and community partners that provide real-world experience for SU students and assists in addressing literacy issues in our community.
Additionally, the Shaw Center oversees Literacy Initiatives in collaboration with several campus partners. The Shaw Center staff works with the Whitman School of Management for Balancing the Books; the Department of Public Health, Food Studies, and Nutrition in the David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics for Books & Cooks!; the College of Engineering and Computer Science for the Engineering Ambassadors; the School of Education for the Nottingham Early College High School program; the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications for the Panther Post at Huntington School; and the Pen Pal Project with a former Shaw Center leadership intern, who is now a teacher with KIPP-Infinity in New York City.
